A self portrait I carried out in 2002.  I was thinking about the shades of colour and texture of flesh following the discovery of Freud's work, in order to produce the most expressive depiction of myself. At the time I was working through issues with her boyfriend. For that reason, I boyfriend was depicted over one shoulder, with a partly open door with light behind it over my other. These issues were worked through successfully however as that boyfriend is now my husband.
