This was my first attempt at an oil painting. At the time I was working in a lab for my PhD. I found everything there to be black and white - either positive results or negative ones - and I longed for the greys! So I dug out a starter pack of oil paints that my parents had bought me previously and I tried to depict my hands in this way. I was very happy to sell this work in one of my first exhibitions, The Body Work ,07 in Melbourne, Australia.
