Drinking

Now then in terms of appointments in Talbot, I had a weekly consult with a psychiatrist. She asked me all sorts of questions about how my week has been both physically, but mainly mentally.


I’d always tell her what I was up to – after my TBI I find it almost impossible to lie! I would always tell her when I had gone out, who with and where to. Although I didn’t initially realise it, she’d always ask me in a roundabout way, how much I’d drank. I’d tot it up and it usually came to around 2.5 to 3 bottles of wine a week.


After a couple of months, my psychiatrist asked me whether I realised that I was an alcoholic? I distinctly remember saying to her that if she came and worked in Glasgow then she’d think virtually every single person was one…
