Sri Lanka

I was flicking through our photos today and one of them made me stop.

This is a photo I took in September 2004. We were on a train in Sri Lanka going from Columbo to Galle. The train was so packed that Paul and I sat between carriages, sitting on our ruckies, with legs dangling out of the door.

The reason why I stopped?

We were dithering whether to go on a tour in India either September or December. We picked September. If we'd selected December then we would have been on this train on Boxing Day. This was the train that the tsunami hit and killed everyone on board.
