Clemency Burton Hill

I recorded a documentary last week but didn't watch it.

A friend recommended said documentary to me.

Paul came into the living room last night and said to me "have you heard of Clemency Burton Hill?"

I laughed as it's all about the same thing!

Clemency Burton Hill is an incredibly bright, music loving, violin playing, piano playing broadcaster and author. I'm trying to get a short film of her off YouTube and I'm struggling - maybe soon.

On 20 January 2020, she collapsed in her home city of New York with a severe brain haemorrhage. As soon as she was rushed to hospital she was taken into surgery to remove the bleed. She was then in a coma for 17 days with the doctors voicing an uncertain recovery.

She did wake

She struggled to speak. She couldn't feel her legs. She struggled to move her hands.

Paul and I watched the documentary last night. I spent the whole time talking to the tv as it played...

"sounds familiar eh"

"errr yeah, of course you needed surgery!"

"coma just like me"

"shit, look at her head, just like mine..."

"of course she keeps saying fuck, so damn fucking frustrating isn't it"

"fuck, fuck, fuck, yeah fuck"

"but she keeps trying, she's not giving up is she, she'll be able to talk eventually as she keeps fucking practicing - practising is how you get there - it's how I got there - you just can't give up otherwise you're fucked"

"she's fucking amazing"

"I'm going to write on Instagram about her tomorrow..."
