Forensic Psychology degree

Here's a story that I've been keeping quiet for a few weeks now - not sure why really.I've been looking for jobs for literally years - cover letters, CVs, job alerts...

I've always sought out crime documentaries - usually murder - as I'm so interested in the "why" question. Why do these people have the need to kill others?

That's the same with reading - I tend to read books on the same subject. I discovered Christopher Berry-Dee who writes on the subject and I'm working my way through his books.

Over the years I've occasionally looked to find out what might make me more employable. What courses could I take that'd increase my chances?

I found a course. Forensic Psychology in the Open University. This degree would help me gain employment in the civil service, prisons, council roles. But every time I've looked at this course, I've thought no, I can't do that. And anyway, it costs a lot of money to do so.

But a couple of months ago I looked at it more closely. It could be done if I got a grant. Which would pay for the tuition fees.

So I thought what the hell, and filled in the form to apply for a grant for the first year's modules. And guess what, I've been given the money! I almost can't believe it and keep checking. I even phoned them up to confirm I was right. They say that I am...

So here we are. I start the course in October free of charge. I'm really looking forward to it - the description of the modules I've enrolled on sound amazing! I'm almost looking forward to having to write essays about it, in a way I certainly didn't want to when I was doing my vet degree, ha!
