I made a film for my Melbourne boss

When I had my brain injury, I immediately said goodbye to my career of researching the brain. Of looking at the genes in various parts of the brain when disease or injury occurred.

I was, and am gutted that I couldn't do this anymore. It made me realise just how important it was in my life, to feel as though I was looking at new aspects of certain diseases.

When I found out that my boss in Melbourne was focussing on brain injury even more since my injury, it meant a lot. Both in an emotional as well as a professional way.

He and I talk on here now and again and he asked me something recently. He told me that he's applying for money to research brain injury and wondered whether I'd be up for making a little piece of film about myself, that he could play to potential funders. I immediately jumped at the chance.

I can no longer work in a lab, do research or publish any more papers. But I will do anything that could benefit the using of money to look more closely at brain injury - to help people in my position.
