If you were a surgeon, what would you make of someone, who you operated on many years ago, wrote to you?

I just wrote to my surgeon, a man who was on call the night of Thursday 11th September 2008. He removed the front part of my skull to allow swelling after my fall. If that hadn't happened I doubt I'd be in the situation that I'm now in. Meaning not living in a hospice, which is what the doctors said at the time.

I sent him a long message and these photos. Obviously I can't tell, but if it was me I think I'd be touched. He might get messages like this all the time from patients, who knows...
