Why do we, after a brain injury, adopt routines that lodge in our heads and this is how we function? My clinical psychologist told me this is normal.
So here we go
Walk into the kitchen and clear up any mess the dogs made
Open dishwasher, take out bowls for Daddy and Jack and place them to the left of hob
Put our respective cups to the top of the chopping board, each with teaspoons in
Put my bowl on chopping board, put a handful of All Bran in it and put in milk
Put two spoons on chopping board for Jack and Daddy's cereal, cup alongside and half fill it with tropical juice from fridge
Take spoons and juice to the kitchen table and open blinds half way up
Open big curtain and let Hudson into the garden. Morgan doesn't usually want out as he's already emptied his bowels onto the kitchen floor overnight. Little bugger
Fill sandwich bag with a banana, Yo-yo and Soreen bar. Knot it and put in Jack's rucksack for his snack at school. Fill his water bottle and put in side pocket
Put rucksack by front door with Jack's coat and my handbag
Take my phone off charge, sit at kitchen table and wait for boys to come downstairs
