Mum's birthday and sister

This is a big year as my Mum turns 80 years of age. She and my Dad came up to ours last weekend to celebrate it with us, which was an honour I suppose, but also a good provider of stress! I planned the days out and tried to have things arranged that she’d enjoy.
For her birthday breakfast we had Bucks Fizz, usually only done on Christmas Day.
Everyone was wearing daft glasses and my Mum had a tiara and sash that she had to wear the whole of the day no matter what!
Oh, and I also designed a birthday card for her, using the most unfortunate photos I could find. My boy helped with adding quotations too.
I amongst other things bought her a fist sized piece of lapis lazuli, a stone I know she loves. Also, Jack came home from school last week with a wrapped gift that he said was for his Granny. When she opened it, it was a stone. A normal looking stone. She asked him about it and he said that he was walking along the street when the stone came from the moon and he caught it for her. That it’s moonstone! My Mum, who is, well my Mum looked at it closely and said “ah yes, it looks shiny and special, it’s definitely moonstone!” I know for a fact that it’s a present that she’ll treasure, because well, she’s my Mum.
For the whole day I quietly wondered whether her phone would ring. Whether my sister would phone her. In the evening her phone did ring and yes, it was my sister. Not long after that the phone went again and one of her granddaughters was phoning to wish her Happy Birthday. Silently my Dad and I fist pumped.
