Right then, I want to talk about something that may not be related to my TBI. But it's something I do that I find useful in a way I never used to feel before my injury.
I find that if I'm a bit stressed out or uncomfortable in a situation, I do what you can see here.
It's almost an unconscious thing, I look down to find that I've started to do it.
But it makes me feel better. I find repetitive movement like this soothes me. It helps my stress. I'll tell you what just come into my head. I know of how young children - toddler age - often do repetitive things as a comfort. My boy used to do that occasionally, and I found out that it's a pretty normal behaviour - nothing to be concerned about.
Anyway, I assume it's one of two things for me. Either I get stressed out more often or more easily now since my TBI. Or it's a behaviour that brain injury survivors tend to adopt. My gut feeling is that it's the former rather than the latter.
