This is the hand of O'Donovan gripping her father's hand. She was interested in the difference between male and females’ hand structure in terms of skin, muscle, tendon and bone. In addition, the work was completed to represent her appreciation for her father's input. Several years ago, O'Donovan suffered a severe brain injury which involved coma, hospitalisation and rehabilitation. She wished to show how grateful she was for his assistance over this time.
