Doling out pills

Here comes another routine I perform every single week of my life.
Filling my dosette – a box with compartments, a few for each day. Yes, like an old person.
I have the need to tell you what I do and the order I do it in. Lucky you!
I set up the boxes of pills as you can see here.
I pick up the first day (4 compartments) box and open one segment
Take out 2 paracetamol pills and one GABApentin pill into my hand
Drop them into the segment
Take a levetiracetam pill, a fluoxetine pill and an omeprazole into my hand
Drop into same segment then close it up
Open another segment
Take out 5 paracetamol pills
Drop in into that segment and close it up
Open another segment
Take out 5 GABApentin pills
Drop it into that segment and close it up
Put that box back into the holder and pick out the next one
I then do the same for all 7 days of the week for the dosette.
But the routine doesn’t stop there. I then look at my supply of pills that I have still in the boxes. I check that I still have at least another week’s worth that I can take for next week. If I don’t then I immediately call my local chemist and they order the pills from the doctor for me.
When I then go and pick these pills up from the chemist, they all know me well. Without asking me what I want, they go and get my pills, hand them to me, we laugh and I’m out of there.
Why do I have this routine? Because there are many times when I haven’t ordered the pills I’ve needed and had to do without until they come in. There’s nothing like a spot of nasty back pain to make you adopt behaviour that’ll stop it happening in the future!
